SHIVAMOGGA: Five workers had a lucky escape while one of them suffered serious burn injuries, when they suffered electric shock while shifting of a power line at Tadagani village in Shikaripur taluk.
Six workers were working on shifting a power line and line clearance had also been obtained. But the Mescom authorities suddenly charged the line due to which it tripped and the power supply snapped.
The workers who were on an electricity pole suddenly felt the electric shock and jumped to the ground and one of the workers sustained serious burn injuries.
Locals have expressed their anger at Mescom officials and questioned who would have been responsible if there was any loss of life. They also alleged that the Shiralakoppa police refused to accept a complaint against the Mescom officials.
