Woman accused of killing two children in Jalahalli commits suicide at Parappana Agrahara jail

BENGALURU: A woman, who had killed her two children in Jalahalli, committed suicide at the Parappana Agrahara Central Prison jail. The accused Gangadevi ended her life apparently driven by guilt over her heinous crime.

Gangadevi had suffocated her two children to death in Jalahalli on Tuesday night. On Wednesday morning, she called the emergency number 112 and informed the police about the crime and admitted that she had also thought of committing suicide. As soon as they learned about the matter, the Jalahalli police went to the spot and arrested her.

A city court had sent Gangadevi to Parappana Agrahara on Thursday. On the same day, she committed suicide in the toilet of the jail by hanging herself with the saree that she was wearing. Gangadevi died while being transported to the hospital. The autopsy was conducted today and the body was handed over to the relatives.

A case has been registered in this regard at the Parappana Agrahara Central Prison police station.
