The abandoned woman was found by villagers by the edge of a forest.

MYSURU: A married woman and mother of two children, who had eloped with a young priest about 10 days ago, was found abandoned by the edge of a forest on Thursday.

The 35-year-old woman, who was living in her father’s house in Kollupura in Nanjangud taluk, came in contact with Santhosh (21), a priest at the Mahadeshwara temple over her domestic troubles. Santhosh promised to give her a new life and the two became close.

On June 12, she eloped with Santhosh and for 10 days, they roamed around. He then kicked up a fuss about committing suicide, and in the dead of the night on Wednesday, he abandoned her by the edge of a forest near Hullahalli village.

The woman spent the night all alone and was spotted by villagers early on Thursday. On hearing her tale, they informed the Hullahalli police. The woman was insisting that she wanted to be with Santhosh. The Hullahalli police have registered a case.
