RAMANAGARA: A man, who had created fear in the minds of people with his occult practices at Joguru Doddi village in Bidadi taluk, was caught by the villagers and handed over to the police.

Balaram, a resident of the same village, had set up a small shrine in the graveyard and also set up a ‘Sri Smashanakali Peetha’ at his house on his farm where he had accumulated scores of human skulls, skeletons and bones, supposedly for witchcraft.

Balaram apparently would conduct rituals on new moon day and if the villagers questioned him, he would threaten them. The Bidadi police have arrested Balaram and his brother Ravi and are questioning them.
