CHIKKODI: the 7th Additional District and Sessions Court, Chikkodi has ordered life imprisonment to the accused in the murder case of a 9th standard student from Harugeri town of Raibagh taluk in Belagavi district.
The accused Ameer Lalasaab Jamadar (26) was facing allegation of brutally murdering Lakshmi Shekhar Rudranavar (16) from Harugeri town with a sharp weapon on August 1, 2021 with the intention that she should not belong to anyone else as she had rejected his advances.
After committing murder, the accused had attempted suicide but was caught by police. Police who investigated the case, had filed a chargesheet against accused in court.
Judge Vijaykumar of Chikkodi 7th Additional District and Sessions Court who heard the case has announced life imprisonment to accused Ameer Jamadar. Government prosecutor Y G Tungala argued on behalf of deceased girl.
As soon as punishment was announced, the parents of deceased girl and government lawyer expressed happiness.
