Man organises horse-drawn chariot race for son’s birthday in Raibagh village

The chariot race was organised to mark the birthday of a two-year-old boy.

CHIKKODI: Horse-drawn chariot races may be something which one gets to witness at fairs in rural parts. A man in Kankanawadi village, Raibagh taluk, organised one such competition to mark the second birthday of his two-year-old son a couple of days ago.

Malakari Naikawadi spread the word about the chariot race he was planning to organise for his son Rayanna Naikawadi birthday in all the neighbouring villages. A total of 20 participants took part in the race.

The first prize winner received Rs 7,000 and a trophy, the second prize carried Rs 5,000 and a trophy and the third price winner got Rs 3,000 and a trophy.

Malakari Naikawadi’s initiative has now become the talk of the town.
