Man murdered, body found floating in Anekal river

BENGALURU: The body of an undentified man was found floating in a river at Mugalur in Anekal taluk on Thursdy. It is suspected that the man was murdered elsewhere and the body dumped in the river.

The police found blood stains on a bridge across the river and the back of the head of the deceased bore an injury mark, most probably caused by a sharp weapon. The body was found in the border of the Sarjapur, Anugondanahalli and Bagalur police limits and the police are going through all missing person’s complaints as the identity of the victim was not established.

Bengaluru Rural SP Mallikarjun Baladindi said they are trying to establish the identity of the deceased.

Bengaluru Rural SP Mallikarjun Baladindi said, “The body was found in Varthur Kodi under Sarjapur police limits. The deceased seems to be aged about 25-30 years. Blood stains were also found on the bridge and it seems that the body was dropped from the bridge. A case has been registered and investigation has been taken up”.
