HASSAN: A man lost Rs 40,000 which he had put into a cash deposit machine at the Axis Bank branch at Channarayapatna. Two men made away with the cash which had been rejected by the deposit machine and the entire incident was caught on CCTV camera.
Sohanlal deposited Rs 40,000 into the machine, but a Rs 500 note was rejected. Sohanlal went into the bank to get the currency note changed, thinking that the remaining Rs 39,500 had been deposited. However, the deposit machine had rejected the remaining Rs 39,500 too.
Two men who entered the bank lobby where the machine and ATMs were installed, saw the money and quickly escaped with it. Sohanlal has since lodged a complaint with the Channarayapatna police.
