CHIKKABALLAPUR: A man stabbed his wife on the road in full public view and later surrendered to the police, in Alakapur of Gauribidanur taluk.
The accused Anjum Khan, a truck driver, murdered his wife Shahnaz. Police said he used to quarrel with his wife frequently alleging that she had an extramarital affair with another man. Anjum suspected that the man visited his house whenever he was not around. Thus, he wanted to put an end to the relationship and killed his wife on the road.
The accused took his wife to the outskirts of the village and stabbed her to death. Later, he went to the Gouribidanur Rural police station, leaving the body on the road, and surrendered.
During interrogation, the accused admitted that he was fed up with his wife’s illicit relationship and committed murder. A case has been registered at Manchenahalli police station. The Gouribidanur police handed over the accused to the jurisdictional police.
