HASSAN: A man stabbed his wife to death with a knife for wearing modern outfits in Rampura village of Arasikere taluk in Hassan district. The victim has been identified as Jyoti (22) a native of Hubballi while the accused Jeevan (25) is resident of Rampura village.
The couple fell in love when they were working together in a garment store earlier and got married only six months ago. Jyoti always preferred modern clothes and Jeevan was angry about this and quarrelled with her due to suspicion.
On Saturday evening, Jyoti went out wearing a modern dress even after Jeevan opposed it. He later took her on a bike to a forest area where he slit her throat with a knife and brutally murdered her. Later, he fled from the place.
The Arasikere Rural station police visited the spot and registered a case.
