MYSURU: A man killed his wife and two children and later committed suicide by hanging at New Maruti Extension in Hunsur on Monday night. The bodies were discovered on Tuesday morning.

The deceased are Harish (49), wife Nischita (36) and children Nexa (12) and Raksha (6). Harish left behind a death note in a notebook stating that he was hanging himself upstairs and with details about properties, documents and other belongings and who they should be given to.

Mysuru SP Mallikarjun Baladandi, who visited the spot on Tuesday, said, “Prima facie, it looks like Harish smothered his wife and children and then hanged himself to death. He was working with a finance company and his death note mentions that his debts had increased due to one site. He had three sites, a car, a two-wheeler and a own house. He has mentioned who they should be given to”.

“The couple got married 14 years ago and we are looking into whether they were any domestic disputes. Harish’s mother also lived with them, but she had left for their hometown in Rajasthan two days ago”, the SP added.

Initially, Harish had planned to end only his life and had mentioned in a six-page death note that he was suffering from mental illness and to look after his wife and children well. He also claimed that he owed no money to anyone, but that he was dejected by failures. He, however, changed his mind later and killed his wife and two children.
