BAGALKOT: A mentally unstable man killed his younger brother by striking him in the face with an axe at their house at Gandhi Chowk in Mudhol town on Wednesday. He later went to a graveyard and smeared himself with ash.
Sukhen Singh Rajput was unemployed and would constantly be taunted by his mother, brother Sunil Singh Rajput (24) and others in the family. Angered by this, he killed his brother while the latter was sleeping.
After committing the gruesome murder, Sukhen Singh went to a graveyard and smeared himself with ash. When questioned by the police, he replied, “Lord Shiva resides in the graveyard and hence, I smeared myself with ash”.
The Mudhol Town police have arrested Sukhen Singh and registered a case. Further investigation is under way.
