BENGALURU: A gang of four, which had kidnapped a person in an autorickshaw, abandoned the victim upon noticing the police in their pursuit, in KR Puram police limits. The police then rescued the man.
On noticing that the man was being bundled into an autorickshaw, some locals called the emergency number 112 and informed that the person was kidnapped and taken away in an auto. The KR Puram police immediately swung into action and chased the kidnappers.
Seeing the police in pursuit, the gang pushed the person out of the auto and fled. Police rescued the person and questioned him during which it was revealed that the person was threatened and a demand of 20 lakh was made.
The victim is being questioned further regarding why Rs 20 lakh demanded and whether the accused are known to him.
The KR Puram police are on the lookout for the kidnappers.
