CHIKKODI: The Athani police have arrested a man who threatened his wife to return from her parental home by firing two rounds from his licenced revolver in Athani town, on Tuesday. The woman, however, had a lucky escape.
Shivanand Kagale (40) and Preethi got married four years ago. Some time later, Preethi got to know that her husband was having an extra-marital affair and returned to her paternal home in Athani.
On Tuesday, an angry Shivanand went to his in-laws’ house and insisted that Preethi return with him. He even fired two rounds from his revolver and threatened that he would fire two more rounds at her and then kill himself with the remaining two bullets.
Preethi then lodged a complaint with the Athani police who arrested Shivanand.
