DHARWAD: A man was arrested for stabbing a woman in the neck and hand after taking her to a desolate area near Salakinakoppa village in Dharwad taluk on October 8. The arrested has been identified as Imamzafar and the woman who got injured was Bibi Nisba Dambala (20).
The accused Imamzafar and Bibi Nisba Dambala went to Dandeli in Uttara Kannada district together. During the trip, they quarrelled with each other and their scuffle ended in her being stabbed in the neck and hand.
Some locals called the police after seeing the injured woman writhing in pain in the dark. Later, Dharwad Rural station police admitted her to the hospital. Based on the information given by the woman, a case was registered at the Dharwad city police station.
Bibi Nisba Dambala is a resident of Dharwad Kuruba colony, and Imamzafar have been in love for many years. Imamzafar recently noticed that Bibi was talking to another man on her mobile phone. Suspecting her, he stabbed her in an isolated area.
