Lured by fake job offers, 14 men from Bidar district stranded in Uzbekistan

The group of 14 men are stuck in Uzbekistan.

BIDAR: Fourteen men from the district who had been lured with the promise of high-paying jobs are now left stranded in Uzbekistan with no food or shelter. They were cheated by agents who took lakhs of rupees from them, the men claimed.

The group includes men from Basavakalyan, Humnabad and other parts of the district. They said they were cheated and now they have no jobs, food, water or shelter. They also said some people had died and that they were scared.

In a video message, the men said they paid the agents Rs 1.2 lakh each and were cheated. They have appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to rescue them from their plight and bring them back home.
