CHIKKODI: Legislative Council member of the BJP, Laxman Savadi, on Monday made a cryptic remark to speculation on him joining the Congress, when he said, “Everything will depends on the party decision”. In the same breath, he also denied rumours that he will quit BJP if he does not get a ticket from Athani Assembly constituency.
Reacting to questions from media persons on Ramesh Jarkiholi’s remarks that Mahesh Kumathalli will be defeated in the upcoming Assembly election, Laxman Savadi said, “I don’t know in what context he made the statement, but there are signs of Kumatalli’s defeat in Athani constituency. But I have told the party leadership that I can’t be held responsible if he loses. I have been serving the constituency since 20 years and I know the pulse of the people. But Jarkiholi may have misunderstood my remarks and I will discuss it with him when I meet him”, he added.
