BENGALURU: There will be no Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) and Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus services on Tuesday as the employees unions are supporting the Bengaluru bandh call over release of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu.

The decision was taken at a meeting of Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation Employees Federation led by Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU).

The KSRTC staff and Workers Federation’s general secretary Vijay Bhaskar, speaking to the media, said, “We stand united when comes to the matter of our land and language. We have already been told the the staff not to take out the buses from the depots. If the BMTC management puts pressure on the employees, we will protest against them. There are 18,000 employees working under the organisation. All of them will participate in the bandh”.
