TUMAKURU: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president D K Shivakumar has called for a two-hour statewide bandh on March 9 to condemn the alleged corruption in the BJP government.

Shivakumar requested all traders to support the Karnataka Bandh from 9 am to 11 am. During the bandh, no college, school and hospital will be disturbed. He asked all associations and organisations for their cooperation and support to get rid Karnataka of corruption.

KPCC president D K Shivakumar has called for a two-hour statewide bandh on March 9.

“We have discussed these issues with other leaders. For the past three-and-half years, we have been fighting against corruption. The BJP has brought disrespect to the entire state. The CM has asked for proof of corruption, but the president of the Contractors’ Association has written a letter to PM Narendra Modi about 40 per cent corruption in the state”, Shivakumar said.

The Lokayukta police on Thursday evening arrested Prashanth Madal, son of Channagiri BJP MLA Madal Virupakshappa, red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 40 lakh. During the raid, a total of Rs 2.02 crore was found at Prashanth’s office and Rs 6.10 crore was found at his residence.
