Cattle fairs have been banned for a month in Kolar district.

KOLAR: The Kolar district administration has imposed a ban on organising cattle fairs and transportation for a month in order to curb the spread of Lumpy skin disease in cattle.

Lumpy skin disease among cattle is spreading across the country.

Deputy Commissioner Venkat Raja issued an order imposing a ban on cattle trading, as Lumpy cases are increasing in the state and other states as well.

As a precautionary measure, cattle are not being permitted to enter from outside the state or transported within the district.
