Karnataka witnesses 3-4 degrees higher temperature than normal during monsoon season

BENGALURU: The city and also the state is witnessing temperature rise by about 4°C above normal for the monsoon season, making it seem like summer has replaced the rainy season.

People of Bengaluru and the rest of the state suffering from scorching heat as the maximum temperature has risen by 3-4°C in all districts across the state. In Bengaluru, the normal temperature during monsoon is 28.3°C, but currently, the temperature has risen to 32.4°C. This is, a 4.1°C increase above the normal temperature, according to the State Meteorological Department.

The highest temperature was recorded in Raichur. Normally, at this time, the average temperature should be 33.1°C in Raichur, but a maximum temperature of 38.4°C has been recorded. That is, a 5.3°C increase above the normal temperature.

The temperature has risen by about 4°C in Gadag, Koppal, HAL Airport, Kempegowda Airport, and Mysuru. The southwest monsoon has weakened and rainfall has decreased due to which dry weather continues in most districts of north-interior Karnataka, according to Meteorological Department.
