Karnataka records 69.23 pc voting, Mandya highest at 81.48 pc, Bengaluru Central votes poorly again

BENGALURU: Karnataka, which witnessed polling for 14 Lok Sabha seats on Friday in the second phase, recorded 69.23 per cent voter turnout at 10 pm. Mandya recorded highest voting, while Bengaluru Central performed poor.

Yet again, the voter turnout in Bengaluru city was low with only Bangalore North recording just about 54.42 per cent while the two other Lok Sabha constituencies put up an even poorer show — Bangalore Central at 52.81 per cent and Bangalore South at 53.15 per cent. Bangalore Rural recorded better voting at 67.29 per cent.

The voting percentage in the other seats was Udupi-Chikmagalur 76.06 per cent, Hassan 77.51 per cent, Dakshina Kannada 77.43 per cent, Chitradurga 73.11 per cent, Tumkur 77.70 per cent, Mandya 81.48 per cent, Mysore 70.45 per cent, Chamarajanagar 76.59 per cent, Chikkaballapur 76.82 per cent and Kolar 78.07 per cent.
