BENGALURU: Former Prime Minister and JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda on Sunday officially announced the alliance between the BJP and his party. He said that former CM H D Kumaraswamy will sit down with the BJP leaders and work out allotment of seats.

The JD(S) patriarch said, “Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah respect me, they know who I am and my stature. I have not specified how many Lok Sabha seats they should give, but I have explained about every constituency”, he said.

“The JD(S) will survive and grow in the 2024 Lok Sabha election. The party will grow again under the leadership of Kumaraswamy. Party workers are the strength of our party. You should save the party”, he said in a emotional appeal.

“I met BJP leaders in Delhi. I cannot become Prime Minister again, but I want to save the party. They (Congress) are saying that I struck an unethical deal in Delhi. Who has morality in this state? I can analyse people who not have ethics, but I do not criticise them personally”, Deve Gowda lashed out at the Congress leaders.

“Some leaders have told me that they will go to Congress, but I told them not to take any hasty decisions. I do not know how many constituencies the BJP will allot to us. Kumaraswamy will talk to the BJP central leaders and finalise the seat sharing. Once it is finalised, I will go to all constituencies and campaign even if I have to use a wheelchair. I requested everyone to support the party”, the former PM added.
