BENGALURU: Investigators have found 39 imported watches worth crores of rupees at her flat in Bengaluru. The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) had earlier seized gold jewellery and cash from her possession.
The DRI had arrested Ranya Rao at the Bengaluru airport for smuggling gold from Dubai. During the investigation, the DRI found 39 foreign watches in her possession. However, the watches were not seized by the DRI officials.
The investigation is ongoing, and Ranya Rao is currently in police custody. The actress’s involvement in various illegal activities is being uncovered as the investigation progresses.
Meanwhile, the Central Bureau of Investigation has joined the investigation in the gold smuggling case. On Monday, after the threee-day custody with the DRI ended, she was produced before a court which remanded her to judicial custody till March 24.
