BENGALURU: ‘Hondisi Bareyiri’ released in cinemas on February 10. The team had a confidence that is seldom seen in showbiz — it was entirely because of the content of the film. It is new, experimental and path-breaking. The kind of creativity the makers had displayed was remarkable. Which is why the team was sure that they would have a terrific opening at the box office.

But that confidence didn’t translate into reality. The team continued facing a lot of hurdles. It’s not like the craze for the film had diminished. It is because of the number of films that released in the past three week that posed a threat to ‘Hondisi Bareyiri’. Having released in 70 theatres in the first week, by the end of it, the movie was playing in only one theatre. Everyone who had watched it only had wonderful things to say about the movie.

The word-of-mouth appreciation has worked in favour of the movie. Director-producer Ramenahalli Jagannath pleaded with theatres and distributors to give his film more shows and it worked in his favour. ‘Hondisi Bareyiri’ continues to draw in audiences even in its third week and all audiences have been thrilled by its content.

‘Hondisi Bareyiri’, which has been helmed by Ramenahalli Jagannath, is a perfect example of how a movie can win if it has good content and support from the people. The movie’s star cast includes Praveen Tej, Aishani Shetty, Anirudh Acharya and Naveen Shankar.
