Hubballi college student stabs girls to death for rejecting advances, arrested

HUBBALLI: A college student stabbed a girl to death for allegedly spurning his advances, at the B V Bhoomaraddi College of Engineering and Technology (BVB College) here on Thursday. The deceased is Neha Hiremath, daughter of HDMC councillor Niranjan Hiremath.

The attacker Fayaz fled the scene, but was later arrested.

Neha was an MCA student while the attacker Fayaz is a BCA student at the same college and hails from Savadatti in Belagavi district. He had allegedly been pestering Neha to enter into a relationship with him, but she constantly rejected his advances.

Angered by this, Fayaz stabbed Neha twice in the neck on the college campus on Thursday afternoon and fled the scene. The Vidyanagar police later arrested Fayaz and have registered a case.
