DAVANAGERE: A health inspector has been reported missing while his taxi was found beside the state highway near Mavinakatte in Channagiri taluk. The official, Shivamurthy, had told his family that he was taking the taxi for hire as as there were a string of holidays.
Shivamurthy from Chouluru village, Challakere taluk, Chitradurga district, is serving as a health inspector at Lingadahalli in Pavagada taluk. Since there were holidays from June 26, he had left home saying he was going out for hire in his taxi.
But since he had not returned home till now and his mobile phone was switched off, and no information about Shivamurthy was available, family members tracked the car’s GPS and found the car near Mavinakatte village in Channagiri.
Since Shivamurthy was not in the car, a missing person’s case has been registered at Channagiri police station, and the Channagiri police along with Shivamurthy’s family members are conducting a search.
