KARWAR: A group of youths attacked two policemen on night duty for questioning them and asking them to return home, in Baithakola area of Karwar late on Saturday night.
The injured policemen Ganesh Kuriyavar and Harish Gavanikar have been admitted to the district hospital. They were attacked for questioning the youths who were out on the streets late at night and advising them to return home.
The city police have arrested 11 people in connection with the incident. The arrested are Sunil Gowda, Manjunath Gowda, Sandesh, Raghuveera, Nitin Gowda, Gagana Gowda, Anurag Gowda, Umesh Janakaprasad, Vitesha Gowda, Yuvaraja Gowda and Suchita Gowda from Karwar. All have been remanded to judicial custody till November 15.
