Govt to provide food to students taking up the SSLC exam

The High Court of Karnataka struck down a government notification on conducting board exams for Classes 5, 8, 9 and 11.

BENGALURU: The government has issued an order to serve midday meals for students who are taking up the SSLC exam which will be held between March 24 and April 6.

Kitchen centres at all government and aided schools should serve midday meals to schoolchildren from Classes 1 to 10 without fail till April 10.

The government has also directed the authorities to provide clean drinking water to schoolchildren along with preparing quality, healthy and tasty food. It is directed them to ensure safety and health of schoolchildren by providing good quality hot food.

Moreover, the government has directed all school heads, managers and cooks to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and where the food is served and maintain clean utensils.
