A complaint was lodged with the Lokayukta claiming that the government school and 26 houses are built on lake land following which the Lokayukta ordered their demolition. Following this, the tahsildar has ordered eviction of the school and the houses. Now, a campaign has been launched on social media to save the school.

The lake has lost its original shape and in 1960, the government alloted the land for the Kannada lower primary school, which now has about 30 students studying in Classes 1 to 5. Tahsildar Geetha had directed the deputy tahsildar and revenue inspector to visit the school and submit a report. The taluk officials have submitted the report to the Lokayukta even elicited opinions of the village and are awaiting word from their higher-ups.
