Girl student dies at private residential school in Sagar, Police arrest founder-principa

SHIVAMOGGA: The head of a private residential school in Sagar of Shivamogga district was booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act on Sunday after the suspicious death of  a female student.

The arrested is Manjappa, the founder and principal of the school. He has been blamed for the suspicious death of an Class 8 student of the school.

The school founder Manjappa has been arrested.

A Class 8 student died under suspicious circumstances three days ago at the private residential school. The parents of the girl and leaders of citizens groups had raised doubts about the death of the student and demanded action. A complaint was also filed at the Sagar Rural police station.

The police registered the case under the POCSO Act against Manjappa and arrested him. Further investigation is under way.
