Gang speeds away from petrol bunk after filling fuel for Rs 2,000

CHIKKAMAGALUR: A group of men in a car cheated a petrol bunk staffer after filling petrol for Rs 2,000 and fleeing without paying up for the fuel. The incident occurred at a HP fuel station on the outskirts off Sringeri town past midnight on Saturday.

The driver of the car was captured on CCTV camera.

In CCTV footage available, the men can be seen arriving in a Maruti Swift car bearing no registration plates. After filling petrol, they made good their escape without paying up. Later, they fled frm the Tanikodu checkpost too without obtaining a pass.

It is alleged that some cattle were stolen from Bidaragodu near Sringeri in the same car. The Bajrang Dal has demanded the authorities to take strick action to curb cattle smuggling.
