DAVANAGERE: A 13-year-old female wrestler, who was said to be depressed, committed suicide by hanging at a traditional gym near Shibar Circle in Harihar town. The deceased is Kavya Pujar.
Kavya was staying in a hostel for wrestlers in Dharwad and was pursuing her studies along with her training. Two days ago, she had come to Harihar and was training at the traditional gym (garadi mane) where she ended her life.
Kavya had won several awards earlier. She was slated to participate in the Dasara wrestling competition, but her sudden death has raised several questions. The Harihar Town police have registered a case and taken up investigation.
