BENGALURU: With festivals like Navaratri and Deepavali round the corner, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSA) will be keeping a watch on production of sweets to prevent food adulteration.

During festival time inspection and collection of samples should be increased. Food testing should be done on the spot and awareness should be created among people about adulterated food, the FSSAI has instructed its officials.

The FSSAI has also directed its officials to take many necessary measures to prevent food adulteration during the festival season as the volumes of sale and production of sweets are expected to be high.
