DRI seizes 1.3kg of gold, nabs two passengers at KIA

BENGALURU: In a major operation, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence has seized 1.3 kg of gold biscuits, worth Rs 1.8 crore, being transported in the luggage trolley at the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) and arrested two individuals.

 

The two accused had brought the gold biscuits from abroad and had stuck on some trolleys. Innocent passengers were taking these trolleys and crossing the Customs checks. The passengers were transporting the gold without their knowledge.

The accused would follow those people who took the trolleys and would then remove the gold from the trolleys. The DRI which got information, about the operation, seized the gold. The accused had transported the gold from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
