Four goats were sacrificed next to the river.

CHIKKAMAGALUR: Four goats were sacrificed, their heads chopped and the corpses dumped in the Bhadra river in what is believed to be an occult practice, near the Hebbale bridge in Kalasa taluk.

Locals were shocked to see the decapitated goats and the corpses floating in the river water today morning. They also found some other items used in black magic including hair, nails, clay dolls, blood, a machete among others.

It is suspected that the black magic was conducted on Wednesday night. The Kalasa police visited the spot and the floating corpses were taken out of the water and buried by the riverside with the help of an excavator.

The corpses of the goats were buried by the riverside.

The police are going through CCTV footage to establish the identities of the those involved in performing black magic.
