KOLAR: Three-time Congress MLA from Bangarpet, C Venkateshappa, died after a heart attack at a hospital on Friday night. He was 73.
Venkateshappa complained of chest pain on Friday night and was rushed to the RL Jalappa hospital where he died without responding to treatment. The last rites were held at his native village Bhuvanahalli in Bangarpet taluk on Saturday.
Venkateshappa had represented the erstwhile Bethamangala Assembly segment in 1978, 1983 and 1999. He had celebrated his birthday only on November 9. Vekateshappa is survived by his wife, a daughter and two sons.
