LOS ANGELES: Rapper Blueface was taken to the hospital after a stabbing incident at a Los Angeles boxing facility, TMZ reported.

Blueface (26) was practising for a boxing contest in October at the time of the incident on Wednesday at the Kaminsky Boxing Gym on Reseda Boulevard.

Blueface took to his Instagram stories and said that he would be unable to compete on October 14. “Today, some random person stabbed me. won’t recover quickly”, he wrote.

The moments leading up to the stabbing incident are captured on security footage that was uploaded to his Instagram feed. In the video, a man in blue pants and a white tank top appears to approach Blueface before trainer David Kaminsky intervenes.

Shortly later, Blueface appears to approach the man and, while sporting his boxing gloves, lands several blows on him. The video then cuts off when the man appears to remove something.

Tensions increased when the suspect said “I’m gonna kill you” to the rapper as soon as he barged into the gym, according to trainer Kaminsky, who spoke to TMZ. Additionally, according to Kaminsky, the perpetrator stabbed Blueface before running away.

According to The Los Angeles Times and a representative for the Los Angeles Police Department, authorities responded to a report of a deadly weapon assault at the scene. The newspaper also said that paramedics carried a victim with a stab wound.

According to TMZ, which cited law enforcement sources, Brandon Henry Snell (36) turned himself in on Wednesday and was subsequently detained and booked for felony assault with a deadly weapon in connection with the incident. The source further stated that Snell was released the following day after posting a bond.

Johnathan Jamall Porter aka Blueface was detained and charged with attempted murder in relation to an incident that occurred outside a strip club on October 8 in Las Vegas.

The ‘Thotiana’ rapper was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, using a deadly weapon, and firing a gun into an occupied building, vehicle or craft, according to an inmate report previously examined by PEOPLE. Later, he was freed after posting $50,000 bail.

According to a police announcement in November, Blueface was also detained in connection with a gunshot that is said to have occurred on October 8th outside a Las Vegas strip club. (ANI)
