Forest officials of Karnataka, TN to conduct joint survey for providing road to border village

CHAMARAJANAGAR: Forest Department officials of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu held a coordination meeting on Tuesday on providing basic facilities like roads to border area villages in Hanu taluk.

The meeting was held under the leadership of Hanur MLA Manjunath and Handiyur MLA Venkatachalam at Jalpipalya village in Hanur taluk. The divisional forest officer (DFOs) of both state were present in the meeting at it was decided to conduct a joint survey.

Addressing the villagers after the meeting, Hanur MLA Manjunath said the issue had remained unresolved for two-three generations and assured the villagers that the survey work will be taken up in a week or 10 days. The meeting discussed providing an access road to the village and to farmers.
