DAVANGERE: Forest officials in Channagiri taluk’s Shantisagar have taken action against individuals who encroached on forest land. The officials have recovered 15 acres of forest land on Survey No. 43 in Gundughatta in Shantisagar, which was illegally occupied.
Locals had been using the forest land to cultivate arecanut and banana. However, officials removed over 3,000 arecanut and banana plants and took possession of the land. This land is located in Channagiri taluk, Davangere district.
