BALLARI: An FIR has been filed against former vice-chancellor of the Hampi Kannada University, Dr Mallika Ghanti, for misuse of power and causing financial loss to the university by violating the KTPP Act, during her term.
A complaint by university registrar Subbanna Rai said that some works were undertaken in 2015-16 and 2016-17 in violation of norms which resulted in a loss of rs 13.56 lakh to the university.
The Kamalapura police have registered a case and taken up further investigation.
