DHARWAD: An FIR has been registered against Dharwad Rural station Circle Police Inspector Manjunath Kusagal following allegations of misbehaving with a woman advocate when she visited the police station.
According to the advocate, he touched her inappropriately and misbehaved with her in the station. When she questioned him about his behaviour, CPI Kusagal questioned what was wrong and claimed innocence. The police also refused to lodge a complaint against the CPI when she went to the station about this earlier.
Lawyers in Dharwad had staged a protest against the behaviour of the police officer and appealed to SP Lokesh Jagalasar to take action against him. They had even blocked the road at Dharwad Jubilee Circle for three hours.
Following this, an FIR has now been registered against the officer at the Dharwad suburban station and further investigation has been taken up.
