BENGALURU: The body of Spandana, wife of actor Vijay Raghavendra, was brought to their Malleswaram home in an ambulance from the Kempegowda International Airport around 1 am on Wednesday. A large crowd had already gathered near the house by then. Friends, family members and celebrities arrived at the residence last night itself.
Police security has been tightened at the residence of former police officer B K Shivaram, Spandana’s father. Actor Shivarajkumar and wife Geetha, Spandana’s friend and actor Anu Prabhakar visited the house at night. MLA Muniratna, B K Hariparasad were also present at B K Shivaram’s residence. Separate arrangements have made for VIPs and general public to pay their last respects.
After a long wait, Vijaya Raghavendra’s wife Spandana body reached Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru around 11 pm.
The police department made all the preparations near the cargo centre at the airport where Spandana’s mortal was brought in. The police had installed barricades near the entry gate to prevent crowds from gathering. An ambulance was kept read at the cargo hold.
After the body arrived at the Air Cargo Terminal and Vijay Raghavendra and his friends received it in the cargo section. It was handed over to the family after about 45 minutes with the verification and clearance processes completed after the flight carrying the body landed past 11 pm on Tuesday.
Necessary arrangements have been made in front of Spandana’s house here for public viewing. The general public will be allowed to pay their respects until 2 pm. Tight police security has been deployed at the house of Spandana’s father B K Shivaram. The family of Vijay Raghavendra has decided to perform the final rites at Harishchandra Ghat as per their customs.
