Excise officials arrest pan shop owner for selling ganja-laced chocolates

BALLARI: Excise department officials have arrested a man who was selling ganja-laced chocolates on the main road at Vaddu village in Sandur taluk of Ballari district for the past one year.

The accused has been identified as Puneet Kumar. The excise officials raided his shop based on specific information and seized 19.05 kg of ganja-laced chocolates in 91 packets total worth Rs 36,400 from him.

The accused belongs to Basedi village of Chayal taluk of Kaushambi district of Uttar Pradesh and has been running a pan shop in Vaddu village for the last year.

The excise officials questioned him about the source of the narcotics and registered a case.
