BENGALURU: The parking fee at K R Market has been revised with the introduction of smart parking. The entry fee is compulsory for vehicles entering market and no free entry of vehicles will be allowed into market henceforth.

The introduction of the entry fee may become a burden for vehicle riders visiting the historical K R Market. Apart from entry fee for vehicles carrying flower, fruit, vegetable, a separate fee of Rs 5 has been fixed for each sack entering inside market.

The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) plans to systematically record the quantity of goods coming inside market and to prevent illegal occupation of space. A digital smart gate system has been implemented by the GBA to offset market cleanliness and maintenance cost. The revision is part of a 10-year agreement for smart parking.

  • For cars and four-wheelers- Rs 25 to 30 for first one hour.
