BENGALURU: The Electronics City Police have seized Rs 9 crore cash that was being illegally transported in a car Veerasandra Signal in Electronics City on August 18.
Based on specific information from Income Tax officials, police stopped and during inspection, a large amount of cash being transported without proper documents was found. Police seized the cash and the car and conducted an inquiry.

During questioning, it was revealed that the cash belonged to one Sachin, owner of Sindhu Jewellers in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. Police later handed Sachin over to the Income Tax officials.
Following this, I-T officials also conducted a search at Sachin’s residence, where Rs 1.3 crore in cash was found. The IT officials are now verifying the documents related to the seized Rs 9 crore and the Rs 1.3 crore found at the house. The investigation into the source of the money and the purpose of its transportation is ongoing.
