HAVERI: Chainsnatchers stole a gold chain belonging to a woman who was heading to a gym and fled after throwing her to the ground near the Ranebennur bus stand early on Thursday morning. The 25 grams gold chain is said to be worth about Rs 2.5 lakh.
The victim Manjula was on her way to the gym when two miscreants, who came on motorcycle, snatched her chain and absconded. In CCTV footage, one person can be seen riding the motorcycle ahead when another man approaches Manjula from behind, snatches her gold chain and flees.
Deputy SP Lokesh and Ranebennur city police visited the spot and are checking CCTV footage from the bus stand including surrounding areas. A case has been registered at the Ranebennur police station.
