YADGIR: A drunk tipper driver, who was driving recklessly, ran over a youth, killing him, in Shahpur early on Saturday. The deceased was identified as Sahil Patel (18).
After running over the youth who was standing by the roadside, the truck driver Jeevan crashed into a tractor and then into a tree before the tipper came to a halt. In his bid to flee along with the tipper, Jeevan also knocked down an electricity pole. He was also driving on the wrong side of the road.
Angry locals hurled stones at the tipper, caught the driver and handed him over to the police. The Shahpur police have registered a case and taken up further investigation.
