TUMAKURU: Bigg Boss contestant Drone Prathap, who sparked outrage after exploding a sodium bomb in a farm pond, was arrested by the Midigeshi police for his reckless act. He was produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody.
Drone Prathap had exploded a sodium bomb in an irrigation pond at the Sree Rayara Brundavana farm at Janakaloti in Madhugiri taluk, calling it a science experiment, and had uploaded the video on YouTube.
The Midigeshi police had booked him under Section 288 of BNS and 158 of CrPC and the Explosive Substances Act for conducting an explosion without permission and arrested him from his house in Kothur in Bengaluru.
Drone Prathap had reportedly visited the 25-acre farm twice earlier and had promoted the sale of sites on the land. Locals say that a farmhouse was built in the name of setting up a huge industry. When the police brought him to the farm on Friday, Prathap refused to speak to media persons.
The police have also registered an FIR against the farm owner Jitendra Jain and and cameraman who shot the video of the explosion. So far, only Prathap has been arrested in the case.
