BENGALURU: With the state Congress legislature party electing D K Shivakumar as the legislature party leader on Saturday, winning the confidence of all sections of MLAs will be his real challenge.
DK Shivakumar has to win over the MLAs who have accepted Siddaramaiah, a leader with a mass image. He will also have to instil new hope along with new leadership.
There is natural curiosity about what Shivakumar may do to win the trust of MLAs with renewed confidence, especially, what he says after being elected as CLP leader could indicate the direction of future political moves. How much those words impress the MLAs will also be equally important.
It remains to be seen whether Shivakumar succeeds in creating a sense of newness and hope.
